NBI plans to have laptops registered

I first heard the news in a tweet from GMA News

GMA News
NBI gustong ipa-rehistro ang mga laptop para makatulong sa pagsugpo ng cybercrimes! Tutukan sa mamaya. via @

My first reaction was WTF. Another mindless suggestion from our law enforcers. There are better an proven ways of fighting cyber crimes without burdening consumers and businesses. It seems that some people are choosing the easy way out in doing their job and their answer to every crime is registry. Ano ba?! Naalala ko tuloy ang isang isang taxi driver, his meaning for NBI is National Bureau of Idiots. For this country's sake...wag naman!

...sleep

It is either i'm getting old or the constant traveling is taking its toll on a body not used to it.

I just arrived home from documenting the relief operation of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines in Barangays Cacapasan and Rizal in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija. All went well but the heat was tiring more than the distribution and the three-hour travel time to the communities.

I'll post more on this but right now...my body is craving rest and sleep.

Project Noah

I found a cool site that caters to the nature lover in me. Project Noah is a wonderful tool to explore and document wildlife and a platform to harness the power of citizen scientists everywhere. Click the photo to check out my spotter page!

On documenting relief distribution in far flung areas

I consider myself privileged that I am able to participate in the relief distribution of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines. I am able help people and at the same time travel to different places, meet people, find new friends and hone my skills in photography and videography.

Check out this simple video of our trip to in Barangays Upper and Lower Uma, Lubuagan in the province of Kalinga, Philippines. The two remote barangays were affected by typhoon Megi (assigned as Typhoon Juan by PAGASA) when it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and wreaked havoc on the country in October 2010.

It seems I have an exhibitionist neighbor...

I first saw him yesterday morning taking a shower in his undies in the construction site beside our building around six in the morning.

I usually see 'on-site' workers take showers but this particular person is different for when I saw him again this morning he was looking at something or someone on my right (probably one of the female neighbors). After his bath he turned towards our building and removed his wet undies exposing himself while putting on a fresh one...
