Back to Normal

After several days of reprieve from the traffic, noise and pollution, EDSA is now back to normal with the promise of increasing traffic as more vacationers return from the nearby provinces.

Sunflowers!

Finally! the sunflowers are blooming! Somehow all my worries for the past few weeks melted away when I saw these flowers lining up the University Avenue on my way to my mothers house. If you've driven by the UP Diliman campus lately, you probably were greeted by these big, bright, beautiful blooms!

Look ma, NO TRAFFIC!

Visited my Nanay in UP Diliman this morning. Took my bicycle and enjoyed the fact that most people are out of the metro and there's no traffic and the streets are safe! Not to mention, considerably less polluted!

I definitely enjoyed my bike ride to my Nanay's house during this seemingly car less day.

Visita Iglesia

For friends who for some reason cannot or would not want to go out of their house for one reason or another, you can still do the yearly Visita Iglesia by going to the Lenten website of the Catholic Bishops of the Philippines (CBCP), the Visita Iglesia Online. This site was meant primarily for the OFWs and the physically impaired individuals. It was re-launched this April 1, 2011 and as of Wednesday morning visits reached more than 40,000. Lost Cookie

It happened yesterday when one of my housemates opened the door. Somehow they did not notice my tuxedo cat Cookie got out our apartment unit. When I arrived from the office she was already out in the building somewhere.

Last night around 11pm she found her way out on the ledge outside my apartment window but was, I'm guessing, too afraid and flighty that when I went on the ledge to scoop her in, she ran away from me. Cookie is a house cat that never got out the house since I rescued her when she was still a baby. I really hope that she's OK.

Brings back childhood memories

As a kid I remember being awed watching gymnasts like this one in the old UP Diliman gym. I saw this video of Polish tumbler Jozef Wadecki, performing truly amazing gymnastics!
